MANAGEMENT SCOPE
A modern, diversified fleet of large tankers and bulk carriers that trade globally is managed and operated by Virtus Shipping, an independent ship management company. Virtus Shipping has built an enviable reputation in the maritime sector over the years by focusing on offering a world-class combination of committed expertise and a wide range of high-quality ship management services to our clients. In order to implement a strict policy of safety and preventive maintenance on board its vessels, Virtus Shipping’s management philosophy is to maintain a high number of experienced and motivated employees both on land and at sea. Virtus Shipping is accredited by Lloyd’s Register Classification Society and runs and maintains an integrated Safety, Quality & Environmental Management System in accordance with the ISM, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Standards. Our safety, quality, and environmental management system focuses on the oversight of all aspects of ship operations and land-based activities under the Company’s control to ensure that they are carried out safely, effectively, and sustainably and are in accordance with customer requirements, current legal requirements, classification society rules, and industry recommendations. When engaged in such operations or activities, all seagoing and land-based Virtus Shipping employees make sure that they are carried out strictly in accordance with the Company’s requirements as outlined in the Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management System.
